Ever since introducing the  iconic “Le Smoking Suit”  in the 1960s, YSL has always pushed and stretched the boundaries of traditional gender paradigms in fashion and style.  As the first couture label to introduce a luxury prêt-à-porter range to its repertoire, YSL is now raising the bar with Stefano Pilati’s “Edition Unisex”. Getting it’s inspiration from Pilati’s S/S 09 menswear collection, the “Edition Unisex” is based on a largely masculine silhouette as blazers, trenches and pants take on menswear proportions and cuts.  In celebration of this new collection, YSL opened a pop-up store on 55 Great Jones St. downtown Manhattan during fashion week last month. The white space pop-up store was filled with racks and tables of beautiful lightweight luxe-casual goods perfect for a jaunt off to some warm, faraway destination. The store featured a selection of silk paperbag-waist trousers, organza trenches and cotton jersey tanks.

YSL’s “Edition Unisex” will also be available in Milan at the Via Montenapoleone flagship store from the 25th of February until the 4th of March before moving on to  the Faubourg St Honore store in Paris from the 5th to the 12th of March.

She has always wanted to be a model since she can remember, as a child she practiced her runway walk in front of the mirror dreaming of being a real model. Her parents helped her pursue her dream and all her practice paid off, Chanel was a runner-up in the Ford Supermodel of the World Contest. Now signed with the Ford agency, Chanel Iman is steaming runways for designers like Alexander McQueen , Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino. Chanel appeared with models Du Juan and Coco Rocha in the Spring 2007 issue of TIME Style&Design. In the May 2007 issue of US Vogue she was featured on the cover with fellow models Doutzen Kroes, Caroline Trentini, Raquel Zimmermann, Sasha Pivovarova, Agyness Deyn, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Hilary Rhoda, and Lily Donaldson as the new crop of supermodels. Chanel also appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue alongside fellow American teenage models Ali Michael and Karlie Kloss in 2008.

Gucci will be launching a special white version of its Tattoo Heart Collection for Gucci’s 4th annual campaign to benefit UNICEF. This collection will all feature a tattoo-style heart motif and from which 25% of sales will be donated to the organization that fights for children’s rights globally. The collection will launch in Gucci stores in over 20 countries and will begin Nove. 19 through Jan 31, 2009.

Tom Ford, who largely left the fashion world behind to try his hand in Hollywood, announced his first deal to direct a film called “A Single Man” starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode. He has started filming in Los Angeles already.

Dean and Dan Caten, Canadian born twins and designers of DSQUARED2 lifestyle fashion brand, have recently partnered with Usher for his “One Nigh Stand” ladies only concert tour, which has started in Atlantic city on Nov. 2. The designers have selected a various looks to reflect a sexy and sophistcated DSQUARED2 style for Usher. Here are the designer sketches.

Here are Hermès kicks! Well I”m pretty sure that these shoes probably cost more than half of a Foot Locker stock room at the very shocking price of $7,600 but wonder if they are worth it…The leather is of course fine but people would notice these are pricey shoes from Hermès??
